Matthew West is a Chicago-based pop and rock artist, who is best known for his song “Come Home for Christmas,” which reached No. 11 on the Billboard charts. West took a cue from Candace Cameron Bure on his latest offering. The song is written by Cameron Bure and West.

“My wife and I are a married couple. I had done a song with Candace’s son, but when I did the [‘Come Home For Christmas’] song I wasn’t sure just how to interpret Candace’s song. I needed a fresh concept, and my wife encouraged me to explore some of the emotions and thoughts she had while in labor. I used those as the inspiration for ‘Come Home for Christmas.’”
